How Much Do You Know About the NBA? Can you tell me stats of 2008, 2007, etc.?

How much about yourself and your history do you know?

If you know more about a player’s stats than about your history you are a nigga!

I see niggas fighting each other over their favorite ball teams. Wow, let a fight for freedom come around and niggas don’t want any part of it.

well if you all stop downin each other and uplift and put people up on their history then they will know….WHO’S THE REAL NIGGAZ HERE damn shame

It’s not about downing. It’s about realizing where you are in life and seeking to be better than what you’ve been taught to be. To strive to achieve higher than they said you could. Being a nigga is ok as long as you don’t stay there in that space.

while i’m not too comfortable with us calling each other “niggas” (under ANY circumstances….and especially in public/on the web), i think this post is SPOT ON

I thought about it afterward and it did seem a little harsh. But sometimes you have to stir the emotions up to get the mind working. I only hope that someone will go away from the site with at least a crack in the foundation of misguidance.

Very good point, sir. We’re scholars and experts, but focus our learning on subjects that aren’t helpful. I also agree with ‘greatness’ and ‘Kirby’ that an additional service the blog could offer is some knowledge, whether it be Black History posts, music that is nourishing to the mind/soul, Black artwork, etc.

I’d be willing to help with these things. Let me know!

Sounds good! I’m trying to figure the best way to go about it if I did incorporate it into the site. Should I post a link at the top named ‘history’ directing to a page on the site that has links to articles online?

I’d definitely be interested in the history section! I stumbled upon the site one day and a friend was like “niggas no more” that sound stupid… So I broke it down to her as far as what the site means to me. I said “Well people go to church on Sunday, but sin on everyday ending in “Y” and that’s stupid. So I told her this site is no different. The site is somewhat of a “church” for the minds of African Americans to get “Saved”. When I fall short you guys pick me up!
Thanks NNM ~Joya

P.S. Please add the history section! I went to a Kwanzaa celebration this past December and we played the name/who am i game. I was embarrassed I didn’t know half of the people and they were black historic famous people.

I’m glad we can be here for you, Joya! You saying that makes this whole thing worth it. We only hope to plant seeds that will eventually grow into something beautiful.

A history section… that sounds like a cure. I like it!

why when white people criticize each other they go correct the problem if there is a problem. But when black people do it to each other it’s a problem

Hey, sports are a legitimate outline, both as a spectator and a participant. It is natural to root for our favorite teams and players, a practice that has existed for many thousands of years.

The problem isn’t sports, it’s perfectly fine to know about the NBA; I know a lot more than most consistent fans. But I also get other things done. You can’t hate a healthy outlet such as the NBA. It’s not the root of the problem.
